What we publish, how we check it, and how we correct it when it is wrong.

Commercial relationships

Some brokers pay us a commission when a reader opens an account through our link, and some buy a labelled advertising slot on our review pages. Both are disclosed - in full on how we make money and the advertising page - and neither buys a score or a position in this database.

How a record is built

  • Facts are taken from the broker's own published material and recorded with the date they were compiled, so a reader can see how fresh a figure is.
  • Licences are checked against the regulator's public register where one is published, and recorded with the number the register uses.
  • Where a figure cannot be confirmed, the field says not on record rather than being left blank or filled with a plausible guess. This matters most for the protections - compensation schemes and negative balance protection - where an absence is itself the finding.
  • Where two sources published by the same broker disagree on a commercial figure, we publish the less favourable one and say that they conflict.

Ratings

Every broker is scored on the same six measures using the same method, set out in full on how we rate. Scores are recalculated when the underlying facts change, not on a schedule and not on request. A broker that improves its terms will see its score move at the next review; so will a broker that quietly worsens them.

We do not publish a score for a broker we have not assessed against every measure. An unrated broker shows no number rather than a zero, because a zero would read as a judgement we have not made.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, we want to fix it, and the bar is evidence rather than assertion: a link to the term as the broker publishes it, or a register entry. Write to hello@top100forexbrokers.com or, if you represent the broker, use the claim process on the page for brokers.

Risk

Trading forex and CFDs carries a high risk of losing money rapidly through leverage, and most retail accounts lose money. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to trade, and a high rating is a statement about a broker, not about whether you should be trading at all.
